What is Amiibo?
Amiibo is a gaming peripheral product released by Nintendo, featuring built-in NFC chips and designed as figurines or cards. These nifty little accessories can be used in specific games by interacting with gaming consoles like the Switch to provide additional in-game content or even a chance to acquire in-game items.
"Zelda: Breath of the Wild" Amiibo
As of September 20, 2019, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has seen a total of 24 Amiibo releases. When you sync them with the game, you can gain access to exclusive content, including 8 unique weapons, 11 armor sets, and a variety of regular weapons, cooking ingredients, gemstones, and more.
The Amiibo, the console, and the game all come together in a seamless fusion of technology, ultimately delivering extra gameplay content or in-game items. At its core, the magic of Amiibo lies within the "NFC chip" embedded within them. The chip contains essential "data," which is read by the console, sent to the game, and finally, gifted to the player in the form of added content. This process has even inspired some individuals to extract "Amiibo data" and write it onto blank NFC chips. Thus, a batch of "Amiibo cards" was born, designed specifically to cater to the needs of those looking to enhance their gameplay experience by "item farming."
Although Amiibo cards are no different from genuine Amiibo in terms of "swiping items", there is a drawback, because they are "one card at a time" after all.
