Troubleshooting

1. Why is it stuck at the writing window without any response?

  • You need to enable Bluetooth on your phone

  • You need to grant the HyperTag app Bluetooth permission

   You can try the following methods:

  • You need to close the window to rewrite the amiibo file

  • Off/on Bluetooth or reboot your phone.

  • You need to disconnect a smartwatch device that is already connected to your phone(such as an Apple Watch)

  • You can try Reset Network Settings of your phone.                                                 (Why you need to do this:Some other Bluetooth device you've connected to has changed your Bluetooth default settings.)

Settings - General - Transfer to Reset iPhone - Reset-  Reset Network Settings

Android

Settings - Reset - Reset network settings 

 

*Warning! This will delete your current network settings,returning them to factory defaults. Your WIFI password and paired Bluetooth devices will be deleted. but this action will not delete any files, apps, or photos from your phone.                                                     

How to grant Bluetooth permissions in HyperTag apps

Access Settings on your phone and scroll down to find the HyperTag icon, click on it to access it

Click on the HyperTag App icon and check Bluetooth permissions have been granted here.

How to enable Bluetooth on your phone

Enter settings of your phone and check if Bluetooth is on

There is no need to pair the device in the Bluetooth interface,it will be paired automatically in HyperTag app.

2. It used to work before, why can't it detect NFC now?

You can follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

a. Press the button and listen for a crisp beep (if the sound is weak, it might indicate low battery), and you'll need to charge it.  

 

b. Rewrite the data, and perform a test.

c. HyperTag is not touching the SWITCH NFC sensing area.User'Manual has marked HyperTag and SWITCH sensing area, put HyperTag close to SWITCH sensing area to test.

3. The game screen displays "Can't use this amiibo today".

a.Usually, this issue occurs due to selecting the wrong mode. In such cases, you can resolve it by setting the mode to "Auto-Infinite Mode" within the “app” and then rewriting the data. This should solve the problem.

 

b.The first time you swipe the amiibo after HyperTag is reawakened, it will say "Can't use this amiibo today". Wait for about 3 seconds for the device to refresh itself and then it will be ready for use!

4. How to shut down the device?

In rare cases, the solution is: in the “app”, select "Restore Defaults" and then rewrite the data once more. This should resolve the issue.
